Welcome to Maranatha

An idyllic spot in the heart of Dorset

DJX_2631_edited.jpg

Maranatha is a unique self-catering Dorset retreat which sleeps two. It offers both seclusion and easy access to the many beautiful sites in the world famous Isle of Purbeck.

It is a perfect base for those looking to explore the Jurassic Coast, the wild Dorset heathland or  enjoy one of the many fantastic beaches in this area.

Maranatha is also a nature-lovers dream, with an abundance of birdlife and daily visits from the resident deer!

While we are conveniently located set back from the A352 you will also benefit from the elevated seclusion of a quiet haven within the owners' enchanting grounds.

Maranatha is annexed to a very quiet household, is all on one level and ensures complete privacy.

Your own front door takes you into a welcoming hallway which leads into an inviting open plan living and dining area, with a smart TV. A comfortable dining space has patio doors opening out onto your own patio and exclusive garden area with a  gorgeous view.

Adjacent to this is the light and airy bedroom, with king-size bed/generous twin beds, plenty of storage and windows overlooking the garden.

The contemporary kitchen is a thoughtfully designed space providing all you need for a comfortable stay.

The stylish shower room offers a spacious walk-in shower, with toilet and hand basin.

Maranatha was completely refurbished in 2023 and has only recently opened its doors to bookings for holiday let accommodation.

End the day with a wonder onto the heath with its gorgeous views of the Purbeck Hills and listen out for the Night jars.

THE SETTING

OUR GROUNDS

The house and annexe are set in 3 acres with some of the trees planted over one hundred years ago, attracting many beautiful species of birds. You have your own seating area, loungers and swing seat to enjoy the distant views of the Purbeck Hills and the meandering river across the fields or just to relax and curl up with a good book.

The orchard, with its morning light, is a peaceful place to enjoy your breakfast to set you up for the adventures of the day.

In May and June it’s a joy to have the rhododendrons in full bloom.

The garden is regularly visited by the deer who come to graze or nibble the treats put out for them.

From your front door, you can take a short walk down the track to the heath with stunning views over the hills and you may even hear the call of the elusive Nightjar in the summer at dusk.

Even though there is a road close by, our guests have described Maranatha as a peaceful and tranquil experience.
